How much time do you get for false imprisonment?

As with any question about criminal liability, it is impossible to answer without knowing the State. In California, false imprisonment is a misdemeanor, with a maximum sentence of one year. If it involves violence, menace, or fraud, it is a felony with a maximum sentence of 3 years. What sentence would actually be imposed would depend upon the circumstances of the offense and the offender. How much time do you get for false imprisonment?
